Adding Karo/ T. Sugar to water while soaking grains?

Hey all...Last night while at work I was doing a little research on incubators and I ran across a different website with a few teks for grains. One of them claimed that during the soak/simmer phase with grains that you should add 1 tbs of Karo/T. Sugar per gallon of water. They claimed that this increased the nutritional value of the grains and significantly helped with colonizing and grow phases. Unfortunately I had to go do my rounds and forgot about the 4am reboot and was unable to locate that same forum again when I got back. Have any of you ever heard of this?

See thats what I kind of figured. First I had never heard anything even remotely close to what they were saying. Second wouldn't the higher sugar content ferment or caramelize during PCing. Still if anyone else reads this and has heard if this is bad or not please chime in...Thanx

It probably wouldn't hurt except it might make your grains want to stick together and not shake well. LC's use a sugar solution for nutrition. It's not substantial nutrition but any little bit probably helps.

You can soak grains in weak coffee.
I've done it and it seems to improve colonization speed a little.

I've added coffee beans to my rice/rye as I ground it up and the cakes colonized fine.
At 1 teaspoon per gallon of water, it's not gonna be sticky. I can't imagine it hurting, but probably doesn't provide much benefit.
