My first hunt- pics

Inspired by the fungus festival, heres what I found.  Any advice appreciated (Spore prints in the process).  These were all found in a Redwood Forest.






These ones were out in the open near a trash can, seem to have hollow stems and no bruising.


These ones had odd caps, not sure what they are:




QUESTION:  What do these red splotches mean?


This ones gills are covered underneath with a thin skin.  Covered in slime on top.

welcome to the shroomery , nice find there .
can you provide more information in the pictures  such as size, color of gill , if it have gills or pores .you said the last one have gills  . that a good picture  by the look i will say stropharia  but never seem that slime ,

first picture maybe gimnopus sp
second maybe hygrocybe
3- maybe  tubaria
4-gimnopus
5-not sure  maybe omphalina, mycena, :ohwell:
6-QUESTION:  What do these red splotches mean?maybe just the normal bruising of hebeloma sp. not sure  what deep create then

2) Tricholoma?  What is the spore print color?
3) Tubaria fufuracea
4) Caulorhiza umbonata
5) Mycena pura
6) Hebeloma mesophaeum
7) Stropharia ambigua

Booo, I actually knew the last one, but Alan got in before the bell <GRIN>

I've found a couple of those around my area before, but haven't had a chance to put them in my mouth yet.  My goal is if it's edible, I'd like to try it at least once.

I think the technical term for that veil on the mushroom is Appendiculate.  There's my big word for the day :smile:

It does not appear to be.  A good indication is the yellowish color of the broken stem and lack of blue staining.  What does the rest of it look like?
