ok i got a
66qt tub(this is smaller than RR's in the movie)
67.8*40.1*35.3cm
with about 120 holes in it, in total. There are 2 cakes on foil, that are sitting on top on about 2 1/2-3 inches of perlite. the temp stays about 70-72 inside.

I've been having trouble getting my Rh up to 95%, i have tried taping up some of the holes, and re moistening the perlite but i cant get it about 85% inside. Could my problem be too few of cakes for such a large fc, or is there not enough perlite inside?

just tryin to figure it out, there are pins on one of the cakes and i dont want to stall/abort or harm them in anyway if i can help it

Probably a bad hygrometer if it doesn't show 95% right after misting.  However, you're supposed to use more perlite than that.

Yea, from what I read on here, so many people believe what they see on their hygrometer as the stone-cold truth.  Fact of the matter is, hygrometers are inaccurate enough to begin with, nevermind if you're using a non-calibrated one that wouldn't even read above 85% whatsoever.

If your hygrometer can't be calibrated - at least do a damp-towel test with it.  Get a towel good and damp, wrap the hygro up it for an hour, and see what it says.  If it only says 85%, then 85% = 99%.  And if it able to be calibrated, change it to 99%.

I used all the perlite i had in my bag. I guess i need to buy more but all i can find is the stuff with miracle grow, which i read wont hurt it.

So even though mine is smaller i still need 4-5 inches in it?

I am clabrating another one that i have right now, it is the exact model and it is reading 100% with the damp towel test. when it is done ill replace it inside the fc and see what it says

Remember, air exchange is the number one pinning trigger, so the larger the fruiting chamber, the better the fresh air supply.  Don't try to get too small or performance will suffer.
