Yes

Theres a bit of crunch recently, but technology is general has been doing quite decent recently.  Atleast better than a few years ago, after the .com bubble burst and moving jobs overseas.

If you are thinking about going to school for it, I would do something pretty specialized though. There are ALOT of people who know a little about alot.

i graduated from college with my Bachelors in CS, and had a choice of 4 jobs.  If you get good grades in school, there is more than enough work out there in the field.

Over here, the netherlands, they expect a large shortage on new computer scientists in the coming 10 years. It's just not popular anymore while there is an increasing need for good software developers. One big problem is that too many bad programmers were hired in the dot-com bubble era for huge salaries. It's almost impossible to fire people over here and that decelerated innovation and the money to hire fresh programmers.
