My LC

UPDATE: Instead of making a new one, I am just going to add to this thread. My LC was growing slowly, so I extracted it and pumped two new LC's with what was in it. They both had wonderful growth even though they caramelized a bit in the PC.
Here is the start of the experiment: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/9489915#Post9489915
I have an LC that I started... three days ago (so today is day 4) It is 12g karo with 300ml water (or 300g water, if you will, making it 4% as suggested)
I PCd my LC jars and let them cool, shook them, used micropore tape on them, etc.
I nocd one up with tissue from another mushroom and Im not seeing any growth. Now the piece of tissue that I put in it looks like it has a very very slight amount of fuzz around the edges, but Im not sure if its just from soaking in water and its kinda deteriorating or if it is myc starting to grow.
Temp was 70ish for Day1, 80-86 for day 2 and 3 and 72-75 now. Ive been experimenting with temps trying to get it constant with different heating methods, dont think it ever got too hot or too cold to kill it, maybe to slow it down though.
Any ideas? Should I take a pic? Or am I just not patient enough? (even though I cant really see much)

Keep a constant room temperature of 70-75 degrees and they will look like this in 2-3 weeks.

Yeah I waited for like 2 weeks before looking and saw alittle cloud.. Then the cloud doubled in another week and a half so I then stuck it in the fridge to slow down growth and keep it for awhile..

It was so awesome, I was looking at flowhoods and realized I had seen one of the motors before. My dad had it in his garage 900cfm never used. Mine for free. I just need to build a box for it now. (edit: box with a filter of course)
For a glovebox I'm using a (I think 70 or 90 gal) clear plastic bucket with holes in it, if I want to be really clean I'll tape a pair of golves to the openings so no air moves at all, no contams yet though......

The more you shake them the quicker they'll grow. People that have magnetic stirrers sometimes leave them going literally 24/7 and get the fastest growth.

I was afraid of damaging my tissue, it sank to the bottom and if I swirl it the marble runs it over.

Nope that's totally OK as far as I know. Like I said w/ the magnetic stirrers - some ppl leave them going all the time.

stir not shake.. if you shake you can get the filter device wet and get contamination..

I try my best to fuck my lc up, i kick it's ass. A straight beat down. Seriously though, you could probably shake as hard as you wanted without damaging the mycelium too much. The real worry is getting your filter wet, which could wick in contams.

Yes, no wet filters of course. I 'shake' in the sense that water rocks from side to side, my holes are near the center for just that reason Also I usually end up just swirling it because of the marble.
Bit tough to get a pic of but it ALMOST looks like there is growth(however little it may be). Maybe just wishful thinking:
Hint, after the magnifying glass, hit the box in the bottom right to see it full size.

Damion was it you that came up with the idea of those special filters for LC, for the possibility of the filter getting wet? It was the barrel of a syringe cut, and squeezed into a hole on the jar lid - and there was micropore tape on each end of the barrel, so it was essentially a double ended filter, in case the bottom 1 happened to get wet. Seemed like a nice idea.

Yea me too. I think I'm gonna try it when I make my LC - seems like a nice little extra precaution.
