So I went to dunk my monotub...(what a disaster!!!)

Basically I went to dunk my monotub because it hasn't fruited in about a week and half (maybe longer). I thought the tub was dry so I've misted it, I've fanned it, and I bought a humidifier fan combo for FAE. Still nothing happened. Anyway tub started to pull away from the sides. So I thought it had dried out. I asked opionons on here and everyone concluded if it didn't fruit to dunk it because it could be dry. Well I go to dunk it today and this happens....(it ended up breaking up even worse. This pic is the least extreme of what happened)
So how my growth must have stalled. Either the sub was too dry or too wet...I guess I'll never know. The sub broke part one I placed a bit of water in the tub so I could lift it out easy...As you can see some parts were 100% colonized, others were 80% and I'd say the middle was only 30%.
Instead of piecing everything back together (which seemed like a terrible idea). I just braking everything up (everything was all wet from the water) and I'm hoping for the best that it will grows back. Basically I'm back to the step where you mix the bulk with the sub. We'll see how everything pans out. Only lost 10% of the sub (I threw it out because it fell in the bathtub. I had to act fast so I did what I thought was best. I really think this was a better option that piecing everything together. Also there is a lot of myc in the sub so that could help out against contaminations. We'll just see how everything pans out.
In the end I'm not too pissed I do have a back up monotub going and some extra supplies if I need to get going again.

my dunk tek.. learn to love it. it wont let you down.
It wasn't fully colonized from the start. I copied someone else's tek on how to get it out. That's why it broke up.

I ordered a pack of these things ->
Drilled out a 1 1/2" hole (fits perfectly/tightly into them) into the bottom of my monotub and shoved that stopper into it. Ideally, i'll be able to just set it in the shower on low and let it 'rain' on it then let the water drain out. Haven't tested it yet, so we'll see.

I was considering putting drain plugs in the bottom of my FC as well. Let me know how this works out for you. I'd be interested to see how watertight it is once filled with water, and how well it drains afterwards.

good idea with the rubber stoppers. would be cool to elevate the substrate a little bit on a screen or something to let it drain faster.
