Plastic Lids For Quart Jars. Are They Better Or Worse?

Hi everybody, I was thinking of getting plastic lids for my quart jars. Are they worth it? Can I still use tyvek under the lids? Do they hold up in the PC? Where's the best place to get plastic lids for Kerr wide mouth quart jars?
Thanks.

I like plastic lids better for most if not all situations. easier to work with, and no rust.
Will hold up fine in the PC.

My lids tend to rust after a few rounds of pressure cooking. I can clean the rust off but I end up needing to buy more lids. I have seen plastic lids for the jars I use but some of them say "not suitable for canning." I may have the wording wrong but I am worried that putting these plastic lids in the pressure cooker will do some such as distort the shape. Are there a special kind of plastic lid that is used? I can try myself but I have had a few disappointments with my spawns and don't want another crappy round.

Ball plastic lids are polypropylene, they survive pcing just fine.
I like plastics for LC's, but metal for grain jars, as the tyvek fits on over the metal lid, not trapping water inside my jar... less contam prone.

I've never seen a plastic lid that seals air-tight, and in addition they can come flying off when you shake the grains, making a horrible mess. Add to that the extra price, and they're just crap in my opinion and experience.
Metal mason lids can be used for many years. When they get too rusty, simply rub them with a green scouring pad and they polish right up, or pony up a couple bucks and get a package of them from the same isle the jars are on. RR

I had problems with rust flaking off and making a mess in general but scour pads are not something I have tried. Thanks.

My lids are airtight ( I can tell by the vacuum that is present, even weeks after PCing ) They are just regular ball plastic jar lids and I tighten them while they're still hot from the PC.
