What exactly do you want to solve?  If a calculator wont work, try Maple MatLab or excel maybe.  It all depends on what your trying to do.

Im sure a calculator would work but it would have to be a scientific calculator. The fact is im lazy and just want to get it over with. Im looking to solve things like...

5(3*4)6+24(38(74*5)4)

that isnt not an exact problem but they are harder then that.

Calculator or spreadsheet would be your easiest bet.  If you're not doing logarithms, trig. or roots you shouldn't need a scientific calculator.

I see. well the problem I often run into is you have to hit calculator button in the right order. I need something where I can just type the problem into and get the answer. I also do not know how to type in exponents.

I don't mean to be rude, but perhaps you should learn how to use a calculator?

2 second exponent lesson

2^(2) or 2^2 is 2 to the second power

2^(1/2) is the square root of 2

2^(-2) is the same as 1/(2^2)

I agree about that calculator thing. Its funny... I taught myself mycology with the help you of you guys, taught myself flash animation and how to program, I can do so many things but I have a HELL of a time with math.

Thanks for the little lesson

Don't listen to these folks, get a TI89 or soemthing.  Equation solver, will do calculus, et cet

And it displays your equation how you would write it on paper, so you can see exactly what you're entering and edit it as you are doing it.  Works awesome:thumbup:

I have one but with all the functions and graphing and having to hit 2nd all the time, its hard to use. I never really took the time to learn every function,  but someday

I cant believe you're advocating the Ti89.  That thing is the biggest ripoff since the Ti83.  Its useless.

Advanced calculus?  All that thing can do is numerically find the area under the curve or the rate of change.

Ti calculators are weak sauce.

Not if you know how to use it.  Preprogramming the first few of each set of graphing functions for common uses saves a lot of time.  Most people have no idea...

Damn, ti-82s are going for 10 bucks on ebay.  When I started using one, I think the 83 (not the 83 plus) had just come out, and they were still like 120-140 bucks.  My math teacher stole me one from the high school and I still use it to this day, god bless her.

TI has deleted all the online guidebooks, those bastards.  I was going to show all the cool crap that could be done, aw well.
