On drugs and relationships
    #9236757 - 11/13/08 11:08 AM (15 years, 4 months ago)

From an interview of the co-founders of Mandala Seeds (cannabis).

High Times: Do you have any comment on working together as a couple in your breeding and growing endeavors? Has it made you closer?

Jasmin: It has it's advantages to work as a couple, since this is a profession that is very much based on trust and being able to rely on someone. It's much easier to focus on the work too and less time consuming. We agree on all important goals and, whatever difference there may be in viewpoints, these can be used creatively to open up new ideas.

But if a relationship doesn't work in the first place I don't think a room full of sticky marijuana is enough to hold it together!

Seems like enough 'glue' to me. Your thoughts?

Your thoughts?

I'm wondering what I'll have for breakfast and then if I should make some phone calls.

What seems like "glue" to you?

I don't get it... is the stuff in red from what Jasmin said? I guess I just don't see the point that you are making, maybe you could elaborate?

I broke the law with a big part of the people I knew, and didn't keep any close friendships.

Are you saying that nothing can hold a failed relationship together?

What about children?

I know some Viet Nam vets that are very close. Killing unarmed villagers together can bring you closer.

Are you sure it was the killings or the fact they would take care of each others heroin IVs... oh, we're are the drugs again!

I'd hypothesize that relationships where both parties routinely commit illegal actions would inevitably fall apart due to distrust and rampant paranoia.

The guy's always betrayed by the girlfriend, didn't you know?

What about children? :strokebeard:
Are you somehow implying that parents stay together because of their children, and not because of their own insecurities and fears to separate?

Well then, just because some of them got closer as a result of this kind of experience, is no different from becoming close as a result of anything else, and I don't think that saying that it is enough glue is completely accurate.
