Hello, I am new to shrooms and these are the results of my first hunt! So I am in the Pacific Northwest, Washington to be exact, and these are hopefully cyanescens. They were growing in a large group at the base of a tree on some woodchips (not sure if they were alder or not). The mushrooms got really bruised because I handled them a lot and picked them quickly and roughly because they were growing in a pretty open area.
Pics (sorry for the large size!):
Habitat: Growing on woodchips at the base of a tree. WA
Gills: light brownish, attatched
Stem: White when they were picked. Now heavily bruised.
Cap: caramel colored when fresh, grayish after drying for a night. Slimy and sticky when I picked them in the rain. Some are convex and some are concave
Spore print color: If I pressed a cap onto paper and lifted it up, it left a purple print. After printing them for about 1 to 2 hours I looked and they definitely looked purple, however this morning they are much more brown.
Bruising: Bluish black to black
I hope thats enough information, please ask me questions and Ill try to answer them as best I can if theres more info you need to ID.
Thanks!!

Those look like Cyanescens:). Good job with the spore print.

I agree, but again I have never found a Cyan in my life. So, I am basing what I say on what I have seen in the past.

That was something I wondered about as well. That's why I said let some others tell you, but I just don't know what else it could be...
But again I suck at identifying.

cap cracking in mushrooms often results from a dramatic change in humidity/water absorbtion duing fruitbody formation, such as a decline in humidity, causing the cap surface o dry out while groundwater is still adequate for forming fleshy fruits. the context grows faster than the cuticle.

I am almost positive that the caps got cracked when I forcefully pulled them out of the ground and jammed them into my pocket.

Oh yea now those are Cyans, and I'm pretty sure the others are. They look odd, but the guy up above would have corrected us if we were wrong about it.
Also, the bruising on the others...Only cyans bruise like that. Well, there are others, but you know.

be confident about every single specimen or don't eat it but all i see are certainly P. cyanescens.

Alright, I'm going to look at pictures of cyanescens for a while longer and do a bit more research, thanks for all your help though! Also, this is a very vague question, but how many of these fresh shrooms do you think would need to be eaten by a first time shroomer to get a mild trip if the shrooms have a cap diameter of 1 inch and a stem length of 1 inch? Sorry if that's not really answerable, I just don't have a scale and don't have access to one so I would love to get some very rough idea of what a dose is.

For dosage of FRESH cyans without a scale, I cut them up with scissors into small pieces and gather a small handful. Imagine these nuts were mushroom pieces:
I usually consume a pile a little big larger than that for a level 3-4 trip.
Cyans can vary pretty greatly in size, so a general number of mushrooms is a fairly bad practice. Snipping the mushrooms into small chocolate-chip sized pieces is a decent way to dose.
Every single mushroom you have taken a picture of and posted here is a Psilocybe Cyanescen. They are safe to consume, as well as hallucinogenic.

I think that is a way to large of a dose. Go get some scales.

Eating that many cyans your first time, or any time, is just asking for a bad time being way too high. Even if some people do like to take big doses, they also are able to do so because they start with maybe A GRAM (dried), and see how you're feeling after an hour or two. Most people fry nuts with 1.5 grams (dried), maybe two, from our patch. Wet, one mature mushroom is probably enough.
