spray when using perlite? And another question

Some dude has been spraying the sides of his fruiting chamber and the perlite around his cakes. They are on there lids. He have lots of pins on 5 cakes but he was wondering if they would grow better if he stopped spraying.

Spraying is useful in keeping the RH up. I used to spray every few days. Try not to over do it. If there's a ton of standing water in the perlite, and you have water condensing on your cakes, it's too much!

I have another question. Some dude I know is using the pf classic in 5 cakes. He put a resovoir in 3 and a 5th hole (right in the center) in the other 2. They all have quite a few pins.

The 2 with the 5th hole

One of them is growing skinny mushrooms while the other is growing fat assed mushrooms.
1.Will the fat ones start growing longer pretty soon or do I need to do something to get them to.
2.Why is this?
3.Does it have anything to do with where they are placed in the fruiting chamber?

I think that When they grow Really fat, its a sign that the fruit has absorbed too much water.
perhaps you didnt get the needle in the resivoir and injected the water into the cake, and therefore it overhydrated the cake?????
The fat ones should grow longer though, unless they abort, there will just be a larger water to fruit ratio, and makes em harder to dry.
But I think you should be fine. :grin:

It also helps to cut the fat ones in halves or qaurters when drying.
