Rasmussen Poll: 64 Percent Of Republicans Want Palin To Run In 2012
    #9216687 - 11/10/08 08:03 AM (15 years, 4 months ago)

Rasmussen Reports, in a new poll published Friday, has some interesting data on how Republicans still have overwhelming positive feelings about Palin:

According to a Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, 69 percent of Republican voters say the Alaska governor helped McCain’s bid for the presidency. Twenty percent of GOP voters said she hurt the ticket, six percent said she had no effect, and 5 percent were undecided.

Ninety-one percent (91%) of Republicans have a favorable view of Palin, including 65% who say their view is Very Favorable. Only eight percent (8%) have an unfavorable view of her, including three percent (3%) Very Unfavorable.

When asked to choose among some of the GOP's top names for their choice for the party's 2012 presidential nominee, 64% say Palin. The next closest contenders are two former governors and unsuccessful challengers for the presidential nomination this year -- Mike Huckabee of Arkansas with 12% support and Mitt Romney of Massachusetts with 11%.

Three other sitting governors - Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Charlie Crist of Florida and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota - all pull low single-digit support.

Sarah Palin is an idiot. She talked about how research on fruit flies is a waste of money.
She doesn't deserve to ever be president.

Probably, but as a conservative i would rather her represent me than a another moderate like McCain, Romney or Huckleberry...

Maybe the Libertarians can take on Obama with Bob Barr again.

yeah, he had Bill Maher on and in his jerry springer postlogue talked about how we just have to agree to disagree blah blah blah.. he acts like he's taking the moral highroad for even having him on his show and not debating religion.  I think he's chicken shit personally.

I take this as amusing evidence that the Republican party includes the lowest common denominator in our society.

Having an idiot potentially be President does scare many rational people, yes.

I also don't consider myself a Democrat.

I'm not partisan whatsoever but I can identify with palin much more than obama.  I'm not religious at all either.  Newt is my hope 2nd only to a libertarian candidate but I won't hold my breath.

Yeah, it's pretty cool how he brought together Dems, Repubs, Indys, and so many other groups, isn't it?

Obama was GIVEN 'almost a BILLION dollars' by people who felt strongly enough about him contribute. He had something like a third of a million contributors to his campaign finance.

That 52% of the popular vote included dems, repubs, and indepdents, whites and blacks, gays and straights etc etc. They all supported him, which is my point. Further, the fact that you seem to think I'm a dem because I supported Obama is demonstrably false.
