Are these pan subbs? (pics)
    #921432 - 09/30/02 11:41 PM (21 years, 5 months ago)

Hi are these pan subbs? I've been seeing these alot on horse dung while hunting cubes. I never really thought they were subbs because the outer ring on the cap disappears as it dries. So what are these shrooms?

So how does Pan Subb compare to Cubes potency wise? Damn wish I knew these were subbs before, I've been finding these fuckers back there all the time, but been throwing them out. I thought that maybe they were a different species that got rained on (causing the outer ring) and when they dried it went away completely. But now I know this isn't true. Damn

those are subbs, but get a print first anyway, pan subb prints will be jet black, even after they have dried(if you don't know, prints tend to be a little moist when fresh witch can throw the collor off a little). they are verry weak, by wieght they are about compaarable to cubies, but since they are much smaller, you have to pick more. good luck.
ps. you can usualy tell a foenisecii from a subb by the stipe. foenisecii stipes are closer to that of semilanceata. they are long, whitish (staining brown sometimes) and plyable(like liberty caps, just not so rubbery). if the stipe is reddish, it's usualy a subb.

I rarely ever say something is for sure...but if the spore print is black on these then yup they are for sure subbs....congrats.

Cheers
