Did I Mess It All Up?

I was getting ready to steam sterilize 3 1/2 pint jars with the PF Tek's recommended vermiculite/brf substrate..I put the jars in the boiling water and realized that I forgot the tin foil covers..doh..so I took them out and quickly placed my tin foil covers I made on them and put them back in the pot and slapped the lid on. I took extra precaution this time and cleaned down the area I was using and wiped it down with Lysol disinfectant wipes to make sure no nasty contam. happens. Did I mess up my batch? Do you think everything will be good. They are cooling right now and I'm going to innoculate them tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for your help.

my buddy did 12 jars.. 10 pf and 2 honey water...gonna see what happens.. good luck with yours...he said hes never dipped his needle in so many holes in one night..ha..and what a pain in the ass

you will be fine... the whole idea is that you are sterilizing the jars... as long as you kept them in the boiling water the appropriate time after you tinkered with them they will be sterile... just putting foil on the lid shouldnt do much anyway.

I could only fit in 4 jars :frown:

a little moisure got under the foil lids though but no contams yet

yup, only can fit 3 jars in my pot. ok, cool. i'm hoping for some success this time. thanks for all the replys everyone. I'll keep you updated. i need to get a digi cam so I can do a grow log. I think I will use mazatapec this time. I'm saving my hawaiians for the myco bags. I feel a lot better about this time around..I cleaned and sterilized the whole kitchen. I hope the water heater room is a good enough place to incubat them though...I can control the temp. with the thermostat and I don't think I'll let it get over 80 or 82 degrees.I think the shrooms will be worth the wait too. i've never tried them before and didn't want to buy them from some dealer so I thought growing them would be more rewarding when all is said and done. and all the time and effort put into them should make it a worthwile experience. thanks for all the help so far.
