Well first of all thank you all for your help, support, and many posts even if they were answers to other peoples questions. Finally I have some fruits of my labor getting so close. I now have the confidence to attempt a monotub.
Here is one of my trays.
They are EQ. 1 quart of Rye as a substrate, 2 inches thick with 1/2 inch of jiffymix as a casing layer.
I have 4 like this of EQ and 3 like this of PE
If anyone has worked with PE please let me know how hard they are to get a print from.
Thanks again!
update 10/19 Here's a pic of this mornings harvest.
wet weight is 46 grams
Thanks
Update 10/20 These were picked 10/19 in the evening these suckers are 100% solid! and potent! wet weight is 53 grams wet
Thanks ALL!
Update 10/21 These are the new pics taken tonight! PENISES!
MORE WEINERS
Latest EQ's
10/22 update with penises!! this is my harvest from 2 trays of PE, and the last of my EQ's
Thanks all!
This guy was grown on straight rye cased with jiffy mix and the substrate was only about 1 1/2 inche deep!!
This is my biggest one to date!
35 grams wet!

Nice, so a mini bulk grow! Just get a bigger tub and do bigger trays? I like the idea of trays better than a monotub. If a mono contams most likely you lose a lot of jars of spawn, if one of 6 trays goes, there is a good chance the other 5 will be fine.

That was my thought when I started this. They look kinda big in the 2nd photo, but they are only about 3 inches tall. How much bigger do you think they will get before they open up all the way? They seem to be pretty solid.

Guys, cased rye makes an excellent fruiting substrate. In fact, it's probably second only to brf cakes in BE. Tapered, small mouth jars are also perfect for rye berries. Bang them against a fully inflated tire or tree trunk, phone book, etc., to break the grains up, and then they can be poured out of the jar like sand.
Rye by definition isn't a bulk substrate. It can be cased and fruited directly with excellent performance, or it can be used as spawn to a bulk substrate such as manure, coir, straw, etc. RR
Could be lack of moisture, either within the substrate or low humidity

Nice work! There can't be that much rye in those little containers, so the size of the fruits is probably related to the amount of nutes available. Those are pretty big IMO considering you're using little tupperwares.
I would suggest mixing coir or verm in with the rye when you put it in the trays next time for better water retention. Wait for the myc to recover and colonize the coir or verm, then case and fruit.
I still haven't been able to successfully print a PE. I tried a suggestion from Magash on using his printing jar to print them, but had no luck that way either. I just clone the best looking fruits and use that for future grows.

Thats what i was thinking, but was unsure, did a search and came up with that. I couldnt really make out how much sub was in there.
Good to know :-)

Those containers are pretty small. Seems like they can hold about a sandwich and that's all. Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess. Thanks for the input Fooman and Veda! I feel like a kid in a candy store!!
I almost forgot to tell you that the RH is always at 99%. I have calibrated my hygrometer. I used 4 inches of damp Perlite and i have an ultrasonic set to go on for 5 minutes and then off for 2 hours and 55 minutes. Next time calls for a deeper substrate, and possibly a spawn to bulk!!

Those pics were taken with my phone, believe me they are in a near perfect environment. I believe they're so small because of the small amount of substrate used. update above ^^^

the good thing is that was only the big ones on that one tray, there are about just as many still on there, and I have 6 other trays. I definitely like RYE grain!

WOW! I am updating right now, and all I have to say is WOW!! I took these babies out on a maiden voyage last night, and it was by FAR the most intense thing I have EVER experienced! 20 grams wet was Plenty. I don't know why but those little bastards are f*cking solid.
Thanks all!!
