The humanoid robotics age is here

Life is about to change for the better! Within the next 10 years they are gonna be mass producing humanoid robots with limitless possibilities. We are gonna have robotic humanoids to do our chores and they will replace repetitive jobs in the work force.
We will have robotic pets so life like that they will be better than real pets. They will likely use some organic brain tissue as well as robotics in developing the pets character.
A new age is dawning! Can't wait till they start mass producing these things we are getting closer everyday!

Quote:
South Korean researchers said Monday they have developed a robot which can dance and get emotional when it's not tackling the chores.
(Advertisement) Mahru can move its lips, eyebrows and even pupils freely to make faces and can emit two kinds of fragrances to match its emotions. It can move upper body parts freely while walking on its legs.
The robot was developed by a research team at the state-funded Korea Institute of Science and Technology.
"Mahru, which can dance while walking on its legs, was developed as a humanoid robot capable of working in place of a human," team leader You Bum-Jae said in a statement.
"It will open the way for the commercial use of humanoid robots doing housework."
Mahru is programmed to follow various human movements through an advanced motion capture system, he said, adding it can move its hands freely to cope with any interference or obstacles.
You said his team has also developed a variant Mahru-M robot with sensors which can differentiate faces and objects and deliver things to humans on request.
However, Mahru-M uses a tricycle wheel system to move about.

I'd put it at more like 30-40 years for the common man.

I heard that the first human vs humanoid soccer game is scheduled for 2025.

I'd say "humanoid" robots are quite far off in the distance. We've had this idea well before the 60's (popularized by the Jetsons) and it hasn't materialized yet.
This isn't to say our chores and lives won't be aided by them, but humans have complex movements and joints which aren't efficiently reproduced by robots.

I really wonder how they're going to integrate memory, personality, and all the upper brain functions seamlessly into a "robotic humanoid".
It all just sounds ridiculous.

It all just sounds ridiculous.
Far from ridiculous its already reality. We are already linking animal brains to computers and using living tissue along side electronic equipment which interact together.
Personality can be impersonated or we will eventually be able to copy an animals brain processes and re-create them as data in a chip.
Memory, well any computer has a long term memory (hardisk) and short term memory (RAM).
The tech all already exists and is in varying stages of development.
