I don't really want to order it online as I know there are places I can get it around here. I'd imagine a stable or some kind of farm, but what do I ask them for? Do they have piles that are aged and leeched? I can't really lay shit out in my backyard.

No need to lay poo out in your backyard .....
Look in the phone book ..... or Google it (if you are young and hip) anyway ... find a place that boards horses or gives riding lessons or a big animal vet .... whatever kind of thing you've got close by ....
call them and tell them you are looking for some Hpoo for a gardening project and asked them if you can have some .... you will hear laughing and, "Sure, come and get it."
When you get there ask where the old stuff is and they will head you to a big pile.
Easy.

Go to your local zoo, if you have one. Elephant manure would be the shit... ..... As would water buffalo. Definitely. One of these days I am gonna venture down to the Portland Zoo. Word.

Local greenhouses and nurseries especially, and also ebay. I picked up a huge box of shit off there awhile ago for like 15 bucks.

Lol just try ed my local zoo asking for elephant shit. they really haven't had such a call before and laughed big time.
But in this country there are so many fucking rules so i have to call the veterinarian off the zoo so he can check with the health department and get a green pass.
As he said this is some powerful shit, SO do you really want this, and how much haha.

Yeah craigslist.com is awesome. for example I just stumbled across this Ad:
Free horse manure, seasoned all summer and dry. Great for mixing into soil now for a victory garden next year. For pick-up only can help load, from a small load(five gal. bucket) to a large load(dump truck). Delivery of small loads possible(aprox. 6, 30 gal. cans max) for a small fee.

i posted an ad on craigslist and had 3-4 people respond to me. i called and found the closest one and they had no problem at all letting me come to their place and gather some of the best manure i could find and ive actually become pretty good friends with them. i just told them that i live on a farm outside of town and im using it for fertilizer and no more questions were asked.

you are right savogeno, fore me to get hands of the shit i would have to get a lot of clearance from the zoo and that is a waste of time. and to big a risk just to get some shit.
As i finished my last post i went to a riding school and came back with a huge bag of horse shit with no problems. And at the same time they were Egor to show me all the spots with lots of it.

And at the same time they were actually quit happy about having me come collect their poo. And told me to come back at any time.
The next time i will ask them to trow some horse poo in a pile, outside next to the stable, so i don't have to run around those crazy horses in the pens Usually the collect allot of poo in the stable and trow out each day, so why not tell them to leave some outside so you can collect it when needed, in no fear of getting chased by 15 horses..
Ok it was not quite as dramatic but you get the point
