PMP pump question

this is the pump im looking at buying, it says it flows 71 gph....i have no clue what that means...does that mean itll work for a 71 gallon tub? how big of a tub should i get?

on a side note this place rocks, im getting geolite, a hygrometer and some lights from here too....really good place.

Dont get geolite, perlite is much better at humidifying a terarium due to the high surface area that all the nook and crannies in it, which can hold moisture and allow it easily to be evaporated into the air.

Look up the shotgun FC, that will provide plenty of FAE with 4-5 fannings a day.

lol i dont want to do a shotgun, i work and go to school....fanning 4-5 times a day is not viable...so im gonna do a pmp...with hydrotron.

The floww rate is gallons per hour. Which means your pump will exchange 71 gallons per hour in a one gallon tank or 7.1 in a ten gallon tank. IMO that is quite a bit. Even a twenty gallon tank would give you 3.55 gallons per hour exchange.

I'd go with perlite as well.

perlite in a pmp? i read that its really messy...i actually HAVE 2 bags of perlite but i just dont want to deal with a huge mess, not to mention if i have to adjust something under the perlite...that would be really messy.

Another vote for perlite. You can use it in place of the geolite and not only does it work better, it is cheaper. Dump a bottle of peroxide in, and forget your worries.

You could keep the pump right above the perliteand still get air.
