My gf had a miscarriage

After spending 15 hours in the hospital today my GF and I found out we lost our would be child. The past 24 hours have been an emotional roller coaster and right now I'm going on 33 hours of no sleep plus this shit. I really am not coping well right now. If anyone has anything to add, feel free to. Otherwise, thanks for hearing about my shitty day.

It was a complete surprise. She was on birth control but still got pregnant. Even though it was a surprise and it wasn't really the best timing we were both getting pretty excited about it then this today. I am alone right now and I am just dumbfounded like all night last night was a dream.

She's going to need some support. Rest up because you'll need to be there for her.

Sorry to hear that. I would say she was not very far along in the pregnancy right. The first 3 months are the scariest when it comes to that. My wife and I had 2 miscarriages before we ended up having a daughter 2 years ago and then another daughter 2 months ago. I always figured god had something to do with the miscarriages like maybe they were going to have down syndrome or autism or something and he spared them. Maybe try for another one?

She was around 8 weeks. Not far along, but enough to raise a person's hopes then destroy them. She actually seemed relieved that she wasn't going to carry the baby but I know better. She has a weird way of showing her emotions. I am taking her in tomorrow for the DNC surgery and then I am going to go stay with her for a couple of days to watch over her and help her out while she's recovering. This whole damn incident is so surreal. At least now I am facing it on a few hours sleep.

keep your head up man. My mom had multiple miscarriages before I was born. Maybe it's supposed to happen this way? maybe when you do have a child it will be perfect

Between my brothers first two children my sister-in-law miscarried twins... She was about maybe 12-16 weeks along so it was more than long enough to raise hopes and besides she had always wanted twins so it was very traumatic. Looking back now if they had had them he would have 5 kids right now and things would be so much different.
I also had a friend who miscarried right around 8 weeks(2 months after she turned 21 had only know for 4 weeks) when she found out it was twins. She literally when to her ultrasound found out and then miscarried that night. Again in her situation it turned out for the best.
I've never had a miscarriage so I can't say I feel your pain but I do sympathize, keep you in my thoughts and hope this works out for the two of you. Lots of love!

Kenny?
Your story, minus the miscarriage, sounds like two people I work with. Who are probably going to be fired tomorrow becuase they have both missed the past two days of work and today both were no shows w/out a call. I figured the only legitimate excuse for both of them to be out is a miscarriage.
But for real, I have known several girls with that have had miscarriages, even if it isn't wasn't a surprise, or if she didn't want the child anyway miscarriages can be tough. Therefore, I wish you both well.

Well for those of you friendly enough to offer some advice, we split up tonight. I called her up to talk to her about everything and asked her when her and her ex last had sex before we got together because the doctor said she was a bit farther along than 8 weeks according to the size of her uterus. Her original response this morning was "we split up may 28th, and we last had sex a few days before that." Well the 10-12 week estimate I figured was just a bit off because of the miscarriage and she had had periods since they were together and before me. Well when we talked on the phone she changed her story and said June 28th. I go a bit upset and said so I am going through all this for a child that may not even be mine. She got pissed off and told me she didn't want me at the hospital for her surgery tomorrow that her dad would take her. Then she said I am sick of all your childish bullshit it isn't like it fucking matters I'm not having the kid anyways. At that point I just couldn't take it and told her it'd be best if we just split.
So right now I am wallowing away my sorrow in a mg of xanax and about four full bong loads of quality bud. I don't know what the fuck else to do.

Fuck.. that's a tough one. I don't blame you for what you said but it was a little harsh, especially if the kid was indeed yours. The real question here is how much do you really trust this girl? You said you haven't slept in 33 hours and you're going through some heavy shit right now man. It's very possible that you're just being very irrational. You seriously need to just get some sleep so you can think on this with a clear head. Hopefully that xanax helps you out.

I'm sorry. Shitty situation. I keep telling myself that 'things happen for a reason'....take it easy. Get some rest. You'll get yourself back on your feet again.
