Liquid Culture vs Spore syringe

Ok, i found this liquid culture jar on ebay. I was just wondering, how long does it take for a liquid culture jar like this one JAR to be ready for inoculation on a substrate. And how much faster can I get growth of mushies compared to just inoculating with a regular spore syringe. Im using a 5 lb mycobag

im sure lc knocks off close to a week that you would normaly wait for spores to germinate.

Injecting LC colinizes substrate 5 or more days faster than spores because they already germinated. As far as the actual LC colonizing, it varies based on the liquid (honey, dextrose, etc) volume of jar, temp, gas exchange. Mushie spores take a few days to germinate, so you won't see anything substantial for a week or so. Maybe very small myc growth in that time.
That link came back to this page or I might have missed something.
At the end of the day it will be faster to noc up your bag directly with spores rather than noc up LC then use that to noc up the bag. The LC doesn't speed things up when you are starting from spores - it speeds things up when you already have LC ready to go.
Use some of the spores to make a couple LC jars and you'll have plenty left over for your bag(s).

i didnt see the jar, i think the link isnt working. but if someone is selling a live liquid culture of an active species, dont buy it. its not legal and can be traced to you very easy. if you need to make a jar for growing a liquid culture, it isnt hard at all. you just need a filter and injection port. it will grow without the filter, but not as thick. and during sterilization you may create a vaccume that can suck out all your innoculant if you are not carefull.

lc is perfer'd for mycobags because you can inject alot of inoculant without messing up the moisture content. this speeds up colonization even more.

uh just pc 4% honey and water for 20 minutes, let cool, inject 2ccs of spore solution. Ports and filters are better than not having them but really just micropore tape is fine. Adding some paper clips cut in half will help you break up the myc when you create a vortex.,, but if you dont have a stirplate or anything then just manually create a vortex once a day to prevent too much clumpage.

the link now works above, just click jar, there is no spores in it, its only liquid culture. It say turn 3 cc of spore syringe and turn it into 600 cc of lc

the guy sent me an email saying that it would take up to 8 weeks to get my shrooms from just the spore syringe alone for my 5 lb bag, and that I should get the liquid culture for faster harvest, but from 8 weeks to what is my question.

Make your own LC - cheaper and you can do it right now. Pint Jar + 2tbs honey or karo and 3 (3.5 is ok to fill it up better) cups of water is my magic formula. Then PC for 20 min. Too much PC time will caramelize the honey.
I need to start selling these!

see I dont have a pressure cooker, so thats why im buying all my stuff made allready made. Plus id rather have someone who knows what they are doing make it so I know it will work. The guy has almost 100 percent positive feedback so im sure hes good. He also sales really cheap myco bags which is also cool.

I'm not knowledgable enough to give firm timeframes, but my guess is more than 8 weeks from nocing up LC to fruiting the bag. The myc will need to grow in the LC for a while before you can transfer it to the bag. You save time only if you already have a good LC ready to go. You're better off nocing up the bag directly with spores imo if you want it done faster.
I highly recommend making your own LC if you want to use LC (again, make at least 2 LCs even if you noc up bag from spores). $20 (shipped) for one pre sterilized jar is very expensive.
or
$30 for a 8 qt pressure cooker reusable $10 for 12 Pint Jars - you want to make more than one LC anyway $2 for the honey or karo can make dozens of quarts of LC $0 for tyvec mailing bag =$30 one time investment and about $1 per jar (you can reuse the jars too...)
It's very easy and again, you can have it in hand today and cut a week off your timetable.

Am i to understand someone is trying to sell you germinated mushroom spores on ebay?
edit: if it's just pre-sterilized liquid medium for you to inject your spores into, then remember, you still have to wait for them to colonize the LC before you can inject it into your mycobag.
your not going to save any time this go around, you will get more innoculant in the long run though.

Save $22 if in your life use just this one LC jar. Sounds to me like you'll soon be in a position where you want to use a second third, 12th... The $30 PC will last you forever unless you decided to upgrade the size someday.
Edit to above - they're quart jars (2 pints, 600 cc when 2/3 filled)...

I understand what your saying, but 600cc is enough for 60 syringes, and lasts up to a year in the fridge. I like the fact that I know it was made by someone who knew what they were doing too, because I am completely new to growing fungus, and do not want to fudge up anything.
