I have a 23 qt. PC and also use a propane burner.

The directions that came with the PC specifically prohibit outdoor gas burners ..... ?  .... our kitchen stove is gas and the flame hits the bottom of the PC just the same as the outdoor burner ... so I don't worry about it ... and just carefully use it.

The camp stove burner may be a little small for your 23 qt. PC.  It will work, it will just take longer to get the PC up to temp.  .... once it is at temp / pressure you turn the heat down anyway ... so you should be good.

I don't know about an adaptor ?

Its probably fine as long as you keep the flame at a reasonable level once it gets up to temperature.  I think they are more worried about people using some of those huge outdoor propane burners that produce a very large amount of heat, causing the pressure and temperature to go higher than they expect because the stem opening is small.  Also if the steam opening gets clogged, you might have a dangerous explosion on your hands if you are putting in too much heat.

you can just get one of those turkey fry outdoor stoves runs of LP tank. it's just how much time you want to set around waiting for the water to boil? I use this bad boy once in while for bulk heating. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_16707_16707 Up to you.
