what do you mean by "mistaken for cubensis"? no-one ate any of those did they?
it's hard to tell from the pics, but those mushrooms resemble the "Honey mushroom"-Honey fungus or Armillaria

Yeah, they look a bit like cubes to the untrained eye. They're most certainly not, however. Btw, worst you could get from these is a decent stomach upset, lots of barfing and poop spraying, but no lasting damage.

The cap is smooth, the honey fungus has some sort of scale of fur?

I think there could be some cubes still around, although the season's running out. It never hurts to check, unless you get shot with rocksalt.

Yeah, but not in the woods, OK?
If you are looking in the right habitat and on the right substrate it would be very difficult to find mushrooms that you could mistake for cubensis.

Enable the macro mode on your camera when you take pics of shrooms, that way the camera will focus on the mushrooms instead of the glass table in the background.
Macro mode is the little flower icon.

ok, I said mistaken for cubensis because it could be mistaken since they look similar to someone who hasn't found a cubensis. I know they don't grow in the woods but w/e that's where I came across these mushrooms. No scales on cap though they are perfectly smooth no hair or anything, and sticky when wet. Bruise blue/green. I understand that cubes grow in the cow field. They just look similar so someone could mistake them for cubensis. That's what I meant. I wont eat any mushroom I don't know what it is. I only eat weilii atm. Thanks for the info about the camera macro mode. I have been trying to figure that out. Peace

They don't bruise blue/green, the stems just are blue/green.
Here is some more info on macro mode:

"Ass pissing" is the preferred nomenclature, I understand. Sorry.
