look more like var. guesonii , it look like it have white dot or are yellow? . also  formosa is bright red. is a muscaria for sure , ingest with caution , not a mushroom to have fun.

Been tempted to have an experimental sort of trip with these, might go for it one day proviiding they emerge in my local woodlands.

Boone is a great place, i just came back from visiting.

The cow fields were dry, so we found these along the tree lines
