A "bhuddist-ty" expression signifying to pay attention,
think about things, and stay light on your feet?

I am going to break into LE's house wearing a clown outfit and scuba gear.

Let's see if he is ready for that!

A professor tells his student that the upcoming week he will give a test, and the date that the test would be given will be a complete surprise.

The student reasons that if it's gotten all the way till Thursday without a test, the test must be given on Friday--and yet this would not be a surprise.  Therefore, the test will not be given on Friday.  Similarly, if it's gotten all the way till Wednesday, the test must be given on Thursday.  But this too is impossible.  Repeating his logic, the student finally concludes that the professor's mandate is logically contradictory, and no test will be given next week.

Next week comes, and the professor gives the test on Tuesday.  Needless to say, this was a surprise.  What was wrong with the student's logic?

The professor had already confirmed that the test would occur, so clearly only the contents of the test were intended to be surprising.

There was something rather obtuse about her unexpected yet well thought out sewer plan....    :sherlock:
