rat brain robots

So I only heard about this earlier today on the Colbert Report, but Google showed me it's not a new story.

They made a robot controlled by rat neurons in a petri dish.

Holy fucking shit. I'm all for a transhumanist future dominated by the mighty machine-mind of humanity, and I know stuff like this is stepping-stones toward that future, but that freaked me out. Imagine what type of experience your life would be if your brain were plugged into a robot instead of your own natural body. That shit is fucking weird.

i heard they hooked a rat brain up to a flight simulator, and were seeing if it could teach itself to fly the airplane.
