Turns out Sarah Palin will not be cooperating with the troopergate probe, going back on her promise to do so. Now that things are looking like they might not go so swimmingly she (or rather McCain's people) have decided that it is not in her best interest to cooperate. Her husband is already going to receive a subpoena for the investigation and I think it would be just swell if she got one too. Just another example of Republicans covering their tracks so as not to affect their electoral chances.

fire anyone, why co-operate with a farce of an investigation

Why should she co-operate? Monegan has already admitted she never pressured him to fire the guy.
Lest you all forget, Monegan's position was a political appointment. He had no right to it whatsoever, he served at the whim of the governor. In many administrations (*cough*BillClinton*cough*) it is standard procedure for ALL political posts to be replaced when the administration changes - even when it is retained by the same political party.
This is nothing more than a ploy by Palin's rivals to take her off the campaign trail for a while to answer some partisan hack bullshit. She has every right to tell them to pound sand. As a matter of fact, if she didn't tell them to go pound sand, she'd show herself as unworthy of holding the post of VP of the US.

It's not even partisan. The board doing the investigation was hired by unanimous decision by a "bipartisan committee of the Alaskan Legislature."

Nice link Coaster, I forgot to watch both her and Keith tonight. Well, I think that despite this terrified scramble from the right the investigation will get to the truth one way or another. Even if she's exonerated these retreats and broken promises provide plenty of ammo for Biden when he finally does go on the attack.
