PF TEK question... Can't find brown rice powder.

I spent the entire day looking for brown rice flour to no avail. I ended up buying some regular brown rice (with nothing to grind it down with) and I also got some white rice flour. Will the white rice flour work? Or is there something special about the brown kind. I wanna follow directions completely but as I said, I spent the ENTIRE day looking around. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

you dont have a coffee grinder? Brown rice grinded in your own home is better than buying BRF at a health food store, from what I hear. thats how i do it anyway

Buy a grinder. Where u from? Most grocery stores carry it..in their organics dept. ( soy milk..all that shit vegitarians eat..no offense ) Rainbow Foods..Cub Foods here both carry it. Hell it's cheaper just to grind your own. It's damn near $3 a small bag here.

I almost bought one but I didn't wanna spend 15 bucks on something I was gonna use for 10 seconds. I thought they made non-electric, hand-held ones but I coudn't find one. What about the white rice flour? Is this a bad idea?

Well that white rice isn't going to do you any good....it doesn't have the right nutes...the PF guy talks about that on his site...and trust me that coffe bean grinder is worth it...I prefer the West Bend...sometimes you can burn the motor out though so just put in a little rice at a time...I went through two motors and I didn't stop when I smelled smoke...(not on the West Bend though) ...they usually say how strong the motors are on the box.....How ever much nutes are in the substrate determines how much and how fast it fruits...along with a little light ..temp...ect.

i was just in walmart and while going thru the checkout saw a "as seen on tv" hand held, manual chopper, grinder, etc etc. it was 10 dollars. i would just spend the extra 5 on a blender. works for me.

I couldnt find brown rice flour nor a coffee grinder so just said screw it and bought whole wheat flour. itll take a little longer to colonize and you may get smaller fruits but thats still fine. I paid $2 for a 5# bag of that flour! my dad isnt gonna pay $5 for a 2 pound bag of brown rice flour at a health store assuming they even have it!

You must have a Walmart, Target, or Kmart somewhere near you. Go to the small appliance section where the coffemakers are. They all have a small coffee grinder for less than 15 bucks. Allows you to make a little coarser brf. btw buy organic brown rice at a health food store. No fungicide potential. The $15 dollar investment is worth it, if you do this right you'll be using it again and again!
peace
