Im pretty sure I know what these are, but one looks like a "coral" and Id like verification on that. If you know the others, please chime in. Im eating two of them for dinner tonight. My other question is....how long before I should go back to the chanterelle sight and pick some more. I picked the guy on the left, but the other 17 or so in the pic are obciously not ready. So....when should I get back there?
Thanks guys....first time munchin these and Im pretty excited. Wild Rice, fresh veggies and sauteed shroomage.....
Also....Do Chanterelle have hollow stems? Both I found do, but the photos Ive seen do not. Which is it?

Wait...did you say you were going to eat something you have in the pictures?. Did you think that the first picture is a chantrelle? Because my first reaction is no due to the younger ones shapes. I'm not sure but you still need to wait before eating anything. Second picture could be Clavaria or Ramaria maybe. Third picture is Amanita species for sure. Fourth is Lepiota procera or a similar lepiota.

Yep....figured the first was a chanterelle, but turns out it's probably the "wooly" version. So I'm not eating it. However, what's wrong with the procera? It's a good edible, no?

Chantarellus "cibarus", acording to National Audubon Society Field Guide, has a solid stem. All the chantrelles i find (Chantarellus "americanus"?) have solid stems, but it also says in the guide that some other species have stems that become hollow with age.

Regardless, I was just a little too exited and thought I had something I didn't. Tossed 'em.
Saw a guy pulling a pound or so out of the woods and should have asked to look at his.
The Procera's good though....

L. procera is an edible but is recomended for experienced hunters. Also, procera is my closest guess. I can not see the gills to help determine anything. The problems with it being a "Parasol"(L. procera) have alot to do with the stem. It isn't bulbous at the base and does'nt have scales on the stem. And the last problem is the ring on the stalk does not seem persistent. But still procera is my best guess although it most likely another similar Lepiota

I had it pegged for Rhacodes, anyway....stem is more accurate to that species and to the environment in which it was found.....
