Im currently livin in a very cold place....soon to be very very cold. When I get to putting the cakes in the terrarium is there a way to keep the terrarium at optimal temp w/out having to keep the whole damn house hotter than hell? Any little tricks of the trade by you guys would be useful, this place needs something to brighten things up a bit....thanks, boomer

Hotter than hell...You could fruit fine at 76 degrees F. I mean how cold of a place do you live in. Dont even say an igloo!

Know what I did last winter? I placed my little FC on top of my Stereo Receiver... Worked like a charm, always stayed exactally 78 degrees even when the house was at like 55-60 degrees.
Just think outside the box a bit

never heat a fruiting chamber directly, the temperature difference will cause condenstation on your fruiting chamber walls, which inturns robs you of humidity.
Cubes are very tolerant and have even fruiting in temperatures that are too high for colinisation. Keep the room that your fruiting chamber is in heated between 70-80 s fust fine. I fruited around 68-72.
Colders temps will obvioulsy slow growth down and higher temps speed it up. Also temperature can effect how fruits grow.

you could take a old wardrobe and fit a vivarium heat mat and thermostat. then just place your toats in there.

If you are growing in a small room, maybe try a space heater. Then you won't be heating your whole house, just the grow room.

thats what i do. small space heater in a grow room. its still summer and we are getting lows of 40 at night in ny.noticing growth really slowing down about a week ago. threw the space heater that runs for 4 hours every 10 hours. growth and temp lookin great again.you might also want to put a humidifier in the room. space heater really dries things out in there.
