Moms and email.

I just helped my 54 year old mother setup a new Gmail account. Then I had to transfer all of her contacts from AOL to Gmail. Now my mom is going to be talking to me on Gchat all day long.
I found it pretty weird that my mom actually emails me. Then my 81 year old GRANDMOTHER started emailing me.
It's strange to see old people learning to use computers, but I kinda like it. I remember when I had to teach my mom how to use the mouse
Do your parents/grandparents email you often?

My 60 year old mother has never used a computer in her life. However, my grandmother in her late 80s emails everyone all the time.

If I'm not online at all throughout the day I get a call from my mom full of worry because she "didn't see your little green dot on Gmail chat."

Oh noes, is that what I've set myself up for by getting her a gmail account?

nope, my mom doesn't have my email address (thank god). my dad doesn't really do email even though he's a computer guy, and my grandmother doesn't have my email address.
now, i know my biological father would probably email me, but he doesn't have my email address either.
damn, no wonder i never get email.

I don't think my Mom knows how to e-mail, but my Grandparents are very computer savvy.

My grandma is still trying to figure out CDs, much less computers. My mom and dad email me all the time. My mom even has a facebook account and she always calls me to let me know she's poked me.

My parents met in a computer programming class. So yeah, I get emails
Back when I went away to school, both my parents registered on AIM and would periodically IM me. Then they'd freak out whenever I didn't respond for an extended period of time. They never really got the feel for the online social protocol, I guess.

No, thankfully my parents and grandparents are in the technological stone age. My mom just recently learned how to turn on the computer, it's half the reason i was able to get away with so much as a kid.
