Troubles with my PC speakers.

I've been having a problem with my Logitech Z-3 speakers. It's a 3.1 system. The speakers and the volume control knob all merge into one thick cord and it has this... ginormous PS2 looking plug which plugs in to the subwoofer. In order for the speakers to work, they have to be plugged into the subwoofer. (if all of them work that way, forgive me... I've only put mine together :P)
My problem is that the plug seems to be coming loose and if I bump it one speaker may go out and I get a ton of static pops. Do you guys think if I opened this thing up I might be able to figure out whats wrong? Is it worth the trouble or should I just go for a new set of speakers?

If you do it be careful. It could be something obvious when you open it, but it could be a capacitor or something similar.
Your sub more than likely houses the amplifier for the speakers, and if you touch one of the capacitors it could shock the shit ouf of you. It won't kill you, but it will hurt like hell. They hold power for awhile after being unplugged.

i don't know if i'm not understanding, but it sounds like either the plug on your speakers is coming loose, or the female plug on the subwoofer has come loose.
both is pretty common, you can find guides on how to fix it on youtube.

Sweet, I'll try repairing them.. tomorrow night if I have time.
And yeah... I was shocked by the capacitor that powers the flash on a disposable camera. Hurt like hell. Reminded me of being hit by an electric catfish.

Not many people have. They're a catfish that comes from Africa. They can generate something like 350volts.
They pretty much look like swimming turds with whiskers. See: http://aqualandpetsplus.com/Catfis245.jpg
