Thats pretty deadly. If I were you I'd make a bunch of mushroom caplets and eat them all the time. It would kind of suck not being able to see colour.

That is awesome, you should get your case published in some kind of medical  journal.  Do you only see color when you are tripping, or ever since you have used?

Maybe you could ease into it without coming right out and saying you take shrooms, but I'm sure there are doctors out there that would love to hear about this.  Have you done any research to see if this has happened to anyone else?

I wouldn't be too worried about telling your doctor. He/she should be excited about your discovery, and this kind of thing needs to percolate through the medical community.

What amount of colorblindness do you have?

yeah, i cant find anything about anyone else having this...which is puzzled me and a few other people..heres the process

ill take an amount..about an hour into the trip everything that usually seems like different shades of black and white start slowely becoming color..and then there it is! the grass is green, the sky is blue the fire engines red! this can make my eyes leak heavily too, i mean like waterworks and towards the ending i cant stop crying(although im not sad). And then when its all over, things start to fade back to blacks, greys and whites. :frown:

Wow, that's really impressive, and not so hard to believe either since it was due to an accident not born with it.
If you don't mind can you share what happened that made you become colorblind.

Holy shit.  How did mustard gas cause the colorblindness?

Actually, I heard of this on LSD - a video was posted here a few weeks back, it was a 10 part video on the history of LSD - in 1 portion they interview this girl and she says she sees in "monochrome" and at the time of the interview she was on LSD - I believe she was holding an orange and was saying she could see orange in her hands.

That's great though, maybe with enough mushroom therapy you could cure yourself of colorblindness! That'd be awesome... do some research.

Mushrooms are capable of healing you know!

This is actually exciting.  This need to be published.  If there ever was a step to take to getting mushrooms legalized this would be it, wouldn't you think?  The only way it would happen is through the medical community.  Wishful thinking maybe but fugg it.

yeah, ive been thinking that this maybe the only cause, and if so, maybe a step towards mushrooms being a form of legal medicine for people with colorblindness or even a cure

u no how some animals can see colors we cant c
we only c a small portion of the whole spectrum called the visible spectrum
so wut if when we trip that visible spectrum all of a sudden is a much bigger proportion of the entire spectrum
since our eyes are dilated maybe that is the case
we can c colors not normally visible

I'd be highly skeptical if mushrooms could cure colorblindness.  I can agree that during the trip, the psychedelic might stimulate your visual cortex so to enable you to "see" new colors that you couldn't see before, but colorblindness is usually caused by a physical deficiency in cones--tripping isn't going to magically make you grow more cones.

Edit: I guess some colorblindness can be caused by an accident--but this is usually brain damage causing a disruption in the neural pathways between your eye and your visual cortex.  Mushrooms might be able to fix PTSD-like symptoms or psychological disorders, but I'd be hard-pressed to agree they can rectify physical damage to the brain.

Would you not agree though that maybe stimulating your visual cortex enough might actually be able to cure it (theoretically)?
