Ordered a 12" cut of San Pedro..

(from herbalfire.com)
Anyway, if this was YOURS what would you do with it, exactly, once it arrives to your door? By this I mean what method/extraction/whatever. I've been reading up as much as I can and it looks like the basic tea method is the way to go if I can figure out how to choke it down well enough lol. This thread is opinion based.
Can't wait

Dry it and make a powder then extract.
Failing that, make those alcohol ball things.
The tea and plain drinking the powder isn't a good idea, IMO. I used to just suck it up, but the stomach pain really gets in the way sometimes. And the last time I did it, my stomach was so blown out and deformed from being full of goo that I almost freaked out. It becomes a living sponge. Don't eat it!!

My 'friend' just received his San Pedro (Bouncing Bear) and honestly he's a little intimidated, this will be his first experience with mescaline.
He's thinking about cutting it up, freezing it, grinding the frozen sections, etc etc... Is this a recommended procedure? I've read that the potency is higher this way than some of the extraction techniques.
Any words of wisdom/advice for a Pedro virgin?

Sounds fine, but you're going to have to dry it if you want to grind it.
I recommend a space heater on low at a distance.
That's what I did the first time. Except I didn't wait for it all to dry and began eating the chips, and made a two liter snot slushie out of the rest to chug. It was goddamn horrid, but the experience was grand.

I just want to make sure I make the most out of what I get. In other words, I just need to know that it's going to work 100%. Preferably through the easiest method possible, which once again seems like tea.
I absolutely know I'm ready for the experience. I've tripped plenty of times. The only part I have to prepare for is the possible puking since puking itself is one of my fears I'm ready to overcome.

Real men then end up groaning about stomach pains all day. I've done it five times and lugging a 5 gallon jug of slime in your stomach isn't cool.
You can try a tea then boil that down. But I always fear throwing away all that pulp, which is why I actually just downed it all the first time.

I'm familiar with that one, but that's the one I didn't do because of the pulp issue.

What was the issue? I figure no matter what I do with a 12" cut I should be getting some amount of mescaline when consumed.

The issue that the pulp can still have mescaline in it.

after it's been boiled for hours? You're not gonna be losing much mescaline after all that steeping, imo.
I've tripped using the above cited extraction 6 or 7 times. Had a 100% success rate. Seen 6 different people ingest that extraction product, never seen anyone puke or get overly nauseous (that includes two girls and one couch potato with the weakest stomach you can imagine). Everyone always trips nicely too. I've had a bit of nausea after drinking the tea, but its very mild, and when I did have nausea it passed before the trip started (takes about 1.5-3 hours for the cactus to take effect!)

That's great to hear Noviseer! I'm guessing you're referring to the tek I posted. Care to share any further tips I should keep in mind when brewing it? I never really cooked ANYTHING so I'm hoping it's easy enough that I don't mess up lol.

Oh yeah I think the tea should work too, but I'm a paranoid ass. Losing even 15mg of mescaline will send my jewdar off the charts.

Yea that's what I was referring to. The tek MJ shroomer posted here a few years back. Its very easy to do, only takes a few hours to do start to finish. As for tips...
during the blending stage, it helps to figure out early how much water/cactus will fill your blender without it spilling over each time you blend. I use two small cups, one for cactus and one for water, and mark em with rubber bands when I've figured out how full each one should be. remember its a 1:1 ratio of cactus to water.
When boiling, stir it frequently, burning is bad for potency and probably makes the tea taste marginally worse. I usually boil it down until it's a simmering pile of green sludge, with thick bubbles sort of undulating in the green massy pulp. depends on your pot, obviously, but I boil it down to roughly 1'' off the bottom. Depends how much you want to drink.
Filtering out the pulp at the end can be tricky. I take a second large cookpot and put it on the ground. Cut a big swatch of fabric off an old tea shirt and drape it loosely over the mouth of the pot so there's some space for pulp. secure it to the outside of the pot using rubber bands or duct tape. Gently pour the slude into the middle of the fabric and let it drip. Wait a while (the longer you wait the less scalding hot the goo will be) and then carefully take up the sides of the fabric. tie off the middle and hang the resulting ball from a cabinet, letting the rest of the juice fall into the pot. Squeeze the rest out good.
That's pretty much it. If you have any questions PM me.

Sounds pretty easy man
Another tip I got was to do another pull or two after the first straining. Can't see why it would hurt so I might as well. Hopefully I do everything correctly and have a decent experience, even if only a mild one at that!

Noviseer how strong was your experience? My friend always wanted to experiement with this but this is the first time he's heard anything remotely reliable about san pedro.

Does anyone know that shroomery thread on doing a crude extraction with alcohol??? It had pictures and everything. The outcome was not crystal mescaline, but brown material.
