The Paradox of Philosophy

After three years of psychedelic plant usage and private studying I have reached the intellectual dead-end of "enlightenment"
In pondering its implications I have come to fully appreciate the following "truths":
The world as it is, right now, is so intrinsically perfect and beautiful in every way that it is impossible to fathom. (Eastern Religions- Alan Watts)
There is no need for amelioration of any kind because...
Free will is a paradox, Good and Evil are a moot point in the face of the eternal recurrence of all forms.
(Nietszche)
We live the same life, over and over again.
We die to remember what we live to forget; life is a dream that death wakes us from.
(The cyclical/oscillatory nature of the universe)
There is no "point" to existence per se, due to the duality of forms, true is false, 0=1.
The psychedelic experience cries out to help the earth, but also at the same time imparts intuition of the necessity of mans ignorance in regards to mass evolutionary consciousness. The dualistic nature of reality is simply a metaphor for this ultimate paradox of being.
The stalemate of philosphical debate and the psychedelic experience leads me to believe that the realization of the eternal recurrence is the final end point of self-realization.
All we can do as conscious entities is to live in accordance to our will, which is Love; the desire of boundary dissolution. We spend our entire lives building boundaries, just so we may overcome them, and through overcoming these boundaries we may reach Gnosis.
Enlightenment is the realization of our nature as God.
There is nowhere to go from there, other than to integrate its teaching into your life.
I was chasing my own tail the entire time.
It was a great trip though.

Well, we all get to draw any conclusions we want from our experiences.

Yes, we do indeed, however, I believe I have exhausted my search and have found the eternal recurrence to be the end-all-be-all.
Just my 2 cents.

Well that's nice but 2 cents isn't a lot of money.

While you are basking in your afterglow, try putting the feeling of love into all that you do and to everyone (including yourself) around you. This will bring you more into the realm of experiencing enlightenment rather than intellectualizing it which has its moments of awe, but pales in comparison to practicing the art of staying in love with life.
Your post makes me want to eat a dose of shrooms again (its been a long awhile :P).

you exhausted the ideas with plant combinations you had.
but you'll get older, learn more, real-ize things, forget things, rediscover things.
there's no dead-end of intellectualizing, unless one thinks intellectualizing is the only path to some variant of enlightenment.

I feel I've had similar insights as the original poster. What psyka said is very important though.
A great quote I heard recently was, Quote:
"The pinnacle of all wisdom is love, love, love.
~Sri Ramana Maharshi
I forget this a lot in favor of thinking I have some deep important metaphysical insights to convey. I don't....I am totally groundless and ignorant.
Like the OP said, application is more important than understanding. So, though you think you've been chasing your tail,
Quote:
The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began......
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

But have you learnt to walk on water?
Understanding what the experience is about is definately a part of the process, but if you are One/God, have you achieved mastery over the ether yet?
Are you like Sai Baba?

To me, enlightenment is far more complex than the simple, regurgitated concepts formulated by past spiritual masters. There is truth to be found in these ideas, but they are the ideas of others; what is more important is the underlying pattern. And comprehension of these ideas by themselves couldn't be further from enlightenment itself. It's more of a substitute if you're a quitter, or an example if you're not.
To me, the ultimate end of the spiritual struggle is mastery of metaphor; an understanding of the entirety of reality that vibes with your very own pattern-recognition as it has been cultivated within your life. When you gain the ability to perceive ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING as a single, delightful metaphor, without doubt, all uncertainty is lost.
Recognition of the concepts of ancient spiritual traditions, esoteric understanding, Watts and Nietzsche, is like training wheels for this endeavor. Adherence to a single religion often serves as a crutch.

So everything is a metaphor? A metaphor for what?

A metaphor... or a simile? (I'd vouch for synecdoche myself.)

Whoa... thanks man, I actually had to look a word up!
You seem to get the idea though. It seems like most (good) esoteric writings and philosophy are simply emanations or elaborations of a single perfectly-functioning and absolutely simple metaphor, simile, or synecdoche. More frequently than not, the emanations, being sensible, bury the original source in the mind of the reader. The damnedest part is that we are each the product of unique circumstances, so we have to discover our own, no matter how well we understand the visible emanations.

Trouble is, by the time you've refined your metaphor so that it perfectly matches reality, it's going to be sufficiently complex that it's no longer a simple idea. Something along the lines of the quote, "if our brains were simple enough for us to understand, then we would be too simple to understand them."

Not necessarily. As I see it, the functioning metaphor behind an individual's enlightenment is so simple that words are too complex to sum it up... like attacking a gnat with an axe.
