History channel = Tight as hell
    #8735095 - 08/06/08 05:29 PM (15 years, 7 months ago)

I'm watching a show on Nicola Tesla, the guy who invented the tesla rods.

It says he had a dream of building a giant tesla rod to power the world wirelessly.

He actually built a giant tower that powered a light bulb in his hand a mile away.

Imagine a world where you had to plug nothing in...Power was available wirelessly wherever you went.

They are now doing studies to see if his methods are practical because they were so brilliant, so brilliant they scared people enough to destroy his ambitions.

Pretty tight, watch it if you can.

Theres a special on Vampires at 9 central on Monsterquest as well. Apprently there is a dead body that is stil lworking..soemthing fucked up but i cant wait to watch it!:awesome:

 History Channel

huge Tesla towers seem like cancer waiting to happen.

Tesla invented alot of things. Like the radio, which Marconi stole the credit for.

And he invented a death ray?

There are alot of myths surrounding Tesla.  If you study his stuff you soon learn they are as ridiculous as shrooms making your brain bleed.

Yes he did build the tower, I saw photographs of it.

He also constructed a bigger one with money from JP Morgan, but it was never completed, and they demolished it because they didnt want "God's Work" being conjured (electricity) by Tesla.

And the purpose of the Tesla coil was to take small voltages and transform them into large large amoutns of volts yet emit it in a controlled way which does not harm humans within the field of electricity.

The only method compatible with our notions of civilization and the race is to prevent the breeding of the unfit by sterilization and the deliberate guidance of the mating instinct .... The trend of opinion among eugenists is that we must make marriage more difficult. Certainly no one who is not a desirable parent should be permitted to produce progeny. A century from now it will no more occur to a normal person to mate with a person eugenically unfit than to marry a habitual criminal.

How come the geniuses always believe in mandatory sterilization, and its always the stupid common folk whining that everyone has a right to procreate?
Mandatory sterilization, ftw.

It seems ignorance blinds genius, and helps to cultivate stupidity and incorrect ideology.

If only they let him build the tower we'd all have free wireless power.

Who cares if he thought he talked to aliens and shit, he was a fuckign genius.

That's one of the things that's as silly as saying shrooms make your brains bleed.

He said that he detected electromagnetic waves coming from outer space.  The media at the time portrayed this as him claiming to talk with aliens.
