Magic.... The Britain?s turn into sheep....
    #872429 - 09/09/02 11:41 AM (21 years, 6 months ago)

Thought this might interest some of you. It documents how over the years, the English have turned into sheep and mice and have become so accustomed to it that they no longer see how they have fallen.

I found this part particularly interesting.
It should be no surprise, then, that the United Kingdom has been found culpable of human rights violations under the European Convention on Human Rights more often than any other member of the Council of European States except Italy.[226]

And here is the footnote:
[226] See Hillyard & Percy-Smith, supra note 197, at 274.

And now the link:

That was a long essay! Interesting though, nice eye opener to what could happen. The best quote:

"As the post-1920 generation grew up, the licensing provisions of the Firearms Act began to seem less like a change from previous conditions and more like part of ordinary social circumstances."

This happens all the time. At my school the newest honors building was named for an old university president. I was an undergrad when he was here (8 years ago) and despised the man myself. All the faculty objected to the name and the current student body has no clue why. This is why history is so valuable.

Thanks for the link!

links dead, even though i probably wouldnt read it but I'll say that the UK has become the US's bitch. Tony Blair seems to love to take it up the poop shoot from bush. Everything the US does, the UK backs him up. It's like the kid that follows you around so that all the other kids on the playground think your cool
