so, i heard about a year ago you could smoke passion flower, and saw a picture.
and i found some in my backyard and was like kay, sweet.
now, i found this site and ive been reading for like a week, and i have no idea what anyone means. yay.
so yeah, i went out to a field and found like 200 passion flower vines,
all the flowers are wilted pretty much, but the leaves stems and fruit is all still in good shape i guess.
remember im a complete noob to like, any of this.
so, i thought since i couldnt find any shrooms or anything, id start somewhat with passion flower.
so, yeah.. can you smoke it?
or should i make tea with it?
and how do i dry it out?
how much should i use, what will it do, etc.
is this the right forum to post this in? :P

i have smoked fresh leaves before and it is active. but i guess only works with fresh leaves.
just makes you sleepy and gives a 'warm blanket' feeling. only worked once though
but making juice with the fruits is way better.you have to drink a lot to get any effect, but it tastes good ;D
passiflora edulis, btw.

I make a tea from 2-3 fresh or dried leaves. Place in cup, pour in boiling water, cover, let steep 10-15 min. You can add lemon, or sweetener to taste. As for effects, it just makes you sleepy.

I think it is very much active. I smoke joints of passiflora incarnata regularly. it gives me a mild marijuana like high but without the sleepyness and dry eyes. It is nicely relaxing. You can also mix the leaf with marijuana leaf to get a little extra kick. the headache normally associated with smoking marijuana leaf seems to be canceled by the passiflora. ive also noticed if you are already high on marijuana you can smoke a passiflora joint and your high will level out for about a half hour.
You can make a tea out of the leaves but it taste horrible. The tea relaxes my muscles and makes me feel very loose.
also i'd like to add that a few days back smoked 3 passiflora joints within about 4 hours and then took a dose of around 4g of cubensis. the trip was greatly intensified. very similar to the experience i had when i took 5g of rue and 6g of cubensis.
There is definitely some goodies in passiflora incarnata.

P. incarnata is a known, yet weak MAOI. In low smoked or tea doses it is mild... it is potentially hallucinogenic on it's own, but this would take many ounces of material for a dose, and would likely make you sick. A really strong tea is good as an MAOI to combine with tryptamines.

I don´t agree that passiflora can be used for full MAOI. Based on personal experiences.

you need like 4 ounces of material to get substantial maoi effects
there are other active components that make it a light sedative
if ur making tea you want the flowers, you can prolly use the leaves as a blunt filler if you want

Just a word of advice, I would only use passiflora incarnata in such things as It has been said that other species can make you ill

they dont make you ill, the common species found in people's gardens (UK) is Passiflora caerulea, which has very small amounts of cyanide in. I have used this quite a few times with no ill effects - in teas and smoking the leaves, heat is meant to lessen/destroy the cyanide so i assume i'm only taking a very minimal amount of it.

I believe apricot seeds ("kernels") are sold in health food stores for the very fact that they contain small amounts of cyanide. I think the logic is that small amount act as an anti-cancer agent.

Its about the same level that chocolate acts as an maoi. You should just go with some caapi.

I have a P. vitifolia vine that I use for tea, along with a couple other species. They are all about the same IME.
