How long can I leave a terrarium alone for?

So Im about to enter the word of cultivation, but my schedule is a little sketchy due to work. What is the longest I could leave a terrarium alone for without it not being worth even trying to grow till my schedule slows down? I could have as much as a two week stretch in not being able to check up on it.

If you are fruiting, I would say that it is not possible at all. It needs FAE several times a day, and then harvesting when it gets to that point.
If you are just waiting for myc to grow thats a different story since its a waiting game, but even so letting myc just colonize the jar while not being there to examine it can be bad as well.
I would suggest not doing cultivation (unless you are doing an outside grow) unless you have someone that you can trust completely to do the work for you (spouse/girlfriend, roommate, etc.) But also keep in mind that if you cant completely trust the person, bad times can be had. There is an article here on the boards on security that you should brush up on before doing any grow op. Do a search. Keep yourself safe from any unwanted attention (like police) at all costs.

A monotub works great, but even with the holes in it, it will need FAE and misting. Trust me when I say that having a dry substrate/myc mix in a monotub for the shrooms to be fruiting is a failboat waiting to happen.

If you are just entering the world, I would suggest waiting for it to be a time when you can dedicate to it. Having a successful grow greatly entails being able to see and identify things like contams and proper conditions. Once you are established in what you are doing there are some teks that are semi-self sufficient, and that allow you to be away more...but still require lots of attention. However, starting off, the best idea is to be around. A lot can happen in two weeks depending on the stage..

^That's true but if not you can do the bulk neglect. do a search for it and see if you like that approach.

Ok, cool. I'll look into the monotube and the neglect method. I know I can mostly leave it alone when it's innoculating the jars, but probably not so much when its fruiting. I read about the sonic humidifier method on the magic mushroom grower's guide and it said you could leave it going for a couple days unchecked, but didn't give a specific amount of time you could leave it alone for. Thanks for the advice!

Get yourself some filter patch spawn bags and fruit them in vitro, they will certainly take longer than 2 weeks to do hardly anything.if time is not an issue I cant think of a slower method and they are pretty much "Set and forget"
