American Idol, anyone?

Anyone watch the show?
I somehow managed to pass the cattle call this season...LOL. If I don't get raped by the three judges next round, I might actually make it on TV this time around. (I've passed the cattle call once before but didn't get to the three judges, was cut on the second producer round. Also, been on Nashville Star & auditioned for Can You Duet with my hubby.)
I made it onto the news the night before the audition and had several interviews on the day of the audition, I might be on the TV Guide channel's rolling coverage of the auditions...Which would be pretty cool.
I won't know if I make it to Hollywood until my next round...But still, making the top 100 out of 10,000 people auditioning isn't too bad.
Anyone else audition/planning on auditioning this season?

How is it that they have an entire two episodes devoted to retards who can't sing that they shove in front of three judges for comic relief, yet you can't even make it that far?

Most of the good singers are passed on, while the comic relief is let through with ease...It's actually much easier to make it to the three judges if you suck, than if you are actually a decent performer. The one thing I learned from my previous audition was, you HAVE to do SOMETHING to stand out and be a bit different from the others - especially if you are a good vocalist. 90% of the people who audition CAN sing, so they're used to hearing talent. Unless you have more than that, your chances are slim to none on getting through.
Same thing with most reality singing shows...The TV judges CAN'T realistically see 10,000 people per venue (average 5-7 venues per show)
It's just business and, beyond that...common sense.

Hey that's cool.
It's like a tradition for me and my gay boys to watch American Idol.
Plus, I'm from Tulsa, and for some reason Oklahomans make it pretty far on that show.
Even though David Cook totally disowned Tulsa once he made to the top 12. what a fag. I've been to the bar he bartended at a few times too, so I could have met him before all this.
erm, good luck...

Thanks guys! Except Visionary. You, sir, are a dick I've lived most of my adult life in a car - care to remind me why would I care about class, again? I just want the easy fame shot. It doesn't matter if I win, as long as I pass that first nationally televised round I'll have enough exposure and connections to make something of myself. American Idol = #1 T.V. show in America. Making it onto American Idol = automatic gig from almost any venue I send a PR pack to. I tire of hearing other artists bitch, moan and complain about how they've never made it big, when they're afraid to take a slap to the face and deal with a little humiliation when it would play out in their benefit in the long run. They're famous in their own minds, but rarely take the time to EXAMINE the entertainment industry, STUDY how things work, and PLAY by the rules of the game. *shrugs* Just my opinion, I guess.
Because of some messages, I figured I'd just post these up here -
This is for a contest. I really don't like the vocals, just wanted to play around. Since I need 100 views minimum, I'll post it first, though the next two are better indications of my singing voice and style.
