Nice pictures.
Are you planning on "testing" the gyms in the last 2 pics?  I'm curious because I have some that look exactly like that.  If you have "tested" them before or already please let me know.
Did you taste a piece on the back of your tongue?
Thanks in advance.

I am still a little weary of testing these, as I am not experienced yet at I.D.ing of the Gyms. I'm sure a few finds later I will change my mind. Of course I will keep all of the specimen around with labels. They are a tough genus, and sometimes can be, confused with corts, or even galerinas. I am very cautious about putting anything in my body without knowing exactly what it is.

On another note, though they did smell quite potent, or farinaceous- fresh.

Me too, that's why I was going to let you be the Guinea pig.

I agree as I am still a little weary of testing these also.

Peace.
Happy hunting!

They look like Gyms, but more information is necessary to lead us to a species.  IME, most Gyms do not smell like meal, either like anise or like a mushroom.  Galerina marginata can smell like anise.

Mine smell like mushrooms and nothing else.
They were growing on a broken pine branch.

Any ideas to species?
Thanks.

Tentative ID, Gymnopilus sapineus.

I went through the monograph by a process of elimination and narrowed it down to 12 separate species focusing on the ones that had the most obvious characteristics.  After that, I look up the closest species online.  Volk's description matches fairly close other than the radially cracked cap and that only happens in age.
