these were found throughout my yard
they come every year during spring
found in central indiana
dark brown spore print
nice mushroom odor, smells tasty

they grow the strongest in the area were my dad used to scrap out grass from under his mower and leave the piles there to decompose, if that means anything.

At first glance it looks like you have found Panaeolus foenisecii. Wait for a more experienced ID person though. If that is what they are, they are not active and you don't want to eat them.

Those be foes man. You also have another species in there, the orangish ones. The gills on the foes are spaced to far and too light to be Pan. subbs. Also, look at the Stipe, It is too light, there are no lines twisting around it and they are probably fragile right? meaning they break easily when bent.

Your really going to need to wait for Alan R. for that question or someone just as knowledgeable. I know enough to get me by. That guy knows more about mushrooms then anyone I know. NEVER eat a mushroom when you have no idea what it is. You might end up as worm food, and well needless to say that's not good.

yes, and the spore print is jet black, compare the spore print to a permanent black marker.

That is because they are non-toxic.

Most of your mushrooms are Panaeolina foenisecii, but a couple of them (the more orange ones) are Agrocybe pediades.
