Sounds like you got some cubes, it's most likely just spores on the cap. If they're firm and not squishy or smelly, they're good to eat

As long as you make sure that they aren't Agaricus, which can share the same habitat and a similar sport print color, are the same size.

They have veils also, but they don't bruise blue... I only suggested it, because I've seen many people mistake cubes for Agaricus over the years... You may know what you are doing though, in that case disregard the reply.

Any Agaricus can be mistaken for cubes. Compounding the problem, some of the Agaricus tend to bruise a little purple when damaged. Its nothing like the psilocin bluing but if you want it to be blue enough then it will be. To check for Agaricus look at the gill attachment, it will be free.

Correct, as long as you are not imagining the tint, which is kind of common.

Its ok but it would be better to let it grow for another day or two so its bigger. If you know you won't be making it back and no one else picks in the area you can take them.

ok well since i got u here helong me i got one more question. i went ona great hunt to day by myslef. i got 46 grams of copes (im almost postive) and 64 grams of cubes (for sure). the olny this is on my copes i could easliy see the which ones were blueing and which ones werent. but when i got home the blue turned really dark to almost black.. u cant stll see the shade of blue tho. i wasnt caryying them in plastic bags either i had a tubberware. so my question i guess is are there any look alikes that bruise black or maybe even purple?? the habbitat was right form poo. also they are a little dark on top (i think its just spores). and i think maybe some of them were sun dried cause it seemed like it was peeling lika brownish tanish skin off the cap. again. im soory for no pics but i cant find my usb cord. im doin spore prints on everyone right now too.
p.s. my cubes are b-e-a-utifule btw. i wish i could show them too yall. prime pickkins

Hygrocybe conica bruises black but is never found coming straight from poo.
It is common for copes to bruise real blue and then turn almost black. The key is that they are changing colors in the spots that they are damaged.
Most of the mushrooms that grow straight from poo are not too toxic. The nasty ones will be growing from grass or under trees in cow fields but not coming straight from poo. It might be possible to find deadly Conocybes coming straight from poo but those look way different.
You are best off spore printing them all at first. All mushrooms with jet black spores are edible or psychoactive. All mushrooms with black or dark purple brown spores that bruise blue are active.
The deadly mushrooms will have either white or rusty brown spore prints.

Print them on white paper.
If the print doesnt show up then dont eat them...obviously.
You gotta let the cap sit upside down, with the gills on the paper, and put something on top of the cap, like an opaque cup, to block out the light, so it will drop spores.

We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter." --Max Planck
