I would like to see a pic of whole the cacti, but im pretty sure its a self-sterile species. You will need 2 flowering plants.

self sterile means that it cannot reproduce with itself i believe, like people cannot reproduce with themselvfes. there needs to be two parties, and two seperate sets of genetic material... congratulations on that whole less for 2 bucks at ikea too. since when do they sell peyote at ikea, you lucky bastard

Gotta love ikea!
Im pretty sure that you have a Lophophora Williamsi there now, and it should be self fertile!
But apperantly not all Lophophora Williamsi are self fertile. I did read that the northern populations would be self fertile while the southern would be self sterile.
Of that i´d like if some one could fill in.

straight williamsii i am pretty sure is self fertile, but honestly if you want seeds order them because one plant will only produce so many seeds.

Mine have usually taken 6-12mths for the seeds to show. Usually after they flower the dried flowers from the previous season pop out with fruit.
It should be self fertile, the difference between having another plant to pollinate is probably self fert: 3-7 seeds, pollinated 6-20+ seeds.

if your conditions are warm and bright you should get fruit in a matter of weeks. after flower mine usually take 1-4 weeks to fruit. and its true that self pollinated has fewer seeds then cross pollinated...but if you only got one you will still get some seeds
you got those at IKEA? you are one lucky bastard! if Ikea here had them i would probably sign up for their vip card!

How old do the plants normally have to be before they shoot off flowers? And how much time can grafting cut this? Ive been kind of interested in aquiring seeds.

seed grown platns can flower within 2-3 years, but more common 3-4 years.
grafting, 1 year.
roughly. depends on your climate/procedure.

What if your specimen has already flowered but lost it's flower while shipping. I Just moved my Harrisa flowering LoWill Caesipitosa graft into a bright area since it didn't seem to be doing anything in the shade. Now it seems to be slowly opening back up again. Is it the sun that helps to bloom your specimen quicker? I can't wait for my first Peyote flower and Mines the clumping Caesipitosa variation. I've been told they rarelt bloom.
You've got a nice one there "Novious" I can't wait to share in your experience. I have 2 that seem to be starting to flower. Both Caesipitosa grafts. One Perskiopsis and one harrisa. The Persk graft is normal Caesipitosa and the Harrisa graft is the clumping variation. I was told they were both brushed with pollen before i got them from other speciemens.
I'm wondering how long before mine start to look like nouvia's specimen.

warm temps, bright sun = flowering time even if the flower is broken or whatever, if placed abck into teh nice bright sun, it will start flowering again.
