anyone ever used a reptile heating pad for a fruiting chamber? its one of those you stick under a terranium to keep your iguanas/snakes warm . its pretty even heat all around . i know about the dry heat from a heating pad, but is a reptile heating pad any difference? all help is appreciated.

keep the heating pad set on low and monitor the temp accurately; preferably a digital thermometer.
assuming youre using perlite humidification just make sure you have a 1" thick perlite layer that is always saturated; water it when needed and you should be fine. with the thermometer try to measure temp right there at the bottom where the heat is not necessarily at the top (although the heat should rise...).
if youre doing a self-humidifying casing with no wet perlite layer that is exposed to the air i wouldnt even try using the pad but for cakes or individual casings youll be ok.

Well Iknow that heat will help with humditity but if your temps aren?t low enough your cakes/casings won?t fruit. As long as you keep it at 72-75 degrees it should all be fine.
