just got home from work to find the cake covered in lups insead of pins (look like tey are made ou fo the same stuff as pins but aint pins)
so a few questions(this is the first flush for these cakes) will these cakes develop pins or will it be lumps all the way
will the whole syringe produce these lumps
will it stay all mutated on all flushes
how do you know when to pick these lumps and can i dry them in the same way as usual
thx

It's a total guess, but maybe the lumps will form dark heads in the next 24hrs. I had some pins form on a tub before I initiated fruiting conditions, and they were like little fingers, but with no pinheads on them, for the first 24.

man i have been having shitty results with some cakes like that, though they are in a new FC im trying to regulate, casings in a good FC ive used for awhile.
Ive also got little "stone" like growths of mycelium on my cakes, no pins.
The FC fluctuates from 73-80 =/ im pretty sure their confused and keep growing, but really havnt done many cakes either...2nd flush of a cake is in there that was originally in other FC, only has 1 mushroom as second flush
I figured even though it was reaching 80 degrees whenever i couldn't control it ( 2-3 hours before i wake up ) when i could drop it to around a constant 72-74 for a full day that it wouldn't matter and that my damn fungus would get the idea.
P.S. i'm impatient, im used to fast fruiting, its been 8 days on the cakes. My casings take 4 days to see pina colada flavored nerds ( thats white for all you who don't buy the multi colored nerds )

Okay nevermind, with that clarity i can tell that is nothing like what i got haha. I've just got fluffly white bumps that are about that size but are just clumps of mycelium growth.
That.... That just looks like its growing headless mushrooms, it may be a retard?

Those are cancer emitting orbs. Soon they will detach themselves from the cakes, and float around your living area doing what they do best- emitting cancer radiation.

If it is just fluffy mycelium clumps, then it sounds like humidity could be too high or they are just getting ready to pin. But in those pictures it looks like a bunch of mutated pins.

Blistering happens sometimes. You didn't give any information on your growing conditions, such as light, air exchange and humidity. Usually, correcting problems in those three areas will get your cakes flushing. RR

humidity is controlled by 5inch of perlite ain't got a hydrometer air exchange is controlled by fanning 4-6 times a day although im at work so it can be 8hrs between first and second fan (have lots of holes in tank tho) temp wasn't great last week as we had bad weather, light is controlled by time of day
ain't had any problems with my other cakes
one thing it could be now i think about it the perlite has been in there for about 3 weeks could this be the problem?
if so should i re hydrate the perlite (take it out and re soak it or should i buy some more

Hmmm, might be early signs of dormant mold?
Sometimes those mutants uncurl after a few days and become HUGE humpback fruits. I'd watch those cakes a little closer, but you'll probably be fine.
Are you misting at all, holes in the FC? The FAE sounds good, 5" of perlite should be plenty.

Hmmm... yeah, probably keep an eye on them for discoloration. This might not the be problem, but sometimes excess mutants has been an early sign of mold, in my experience.
Are you using, what, a shotgun FC?

ok these growths/mutants/blisters are getting bigger
have re hydrated the perlite and am starting to see pins(well a pin)
my question is should i pick theses growths off or should i let them mature?
will my next flush be the same or will it improve now i have re hydrated the perlite

i've had this problem with several grows when using MS. Mostly happened when i grew golden teachers. Never got the fuckers to fruit, the lumps just ended up yellowing and hardening up.
