coconut coir and salvia

I added some coconut coir to the substrate my plant is growing in.
Was it a good idea? Thanks

just keep it in a green house/misted
,but we need to know what u added it with...

type of potting soil & ratio???

Not sure, Sally needs good drainage not a substrate that stays moist.

I agree. I would think coc coir would promote stem rot. You'd be surprised how quickly a Salvia stem will begin to rot. All it takes is watering a bit to often or excess moisture within the soil. Coco coir really packs in that excess moisture.

coir is good because it doesnt compact like soil does

it stays fluff letting oxygen and roots have some fun together

Coir is great for salvia, I've never had any problems with it.

how much coir to soil do you use? and while im here, what kind of soil as well. I have some sallys in the mail and i want to get ready.
