Thanks man and no I used two cakes. And actually they started out as one big casing but do to unfortunate circumstances i had to compromise and cut it in half. yeah the one on the right is ready now and i need to figure out if i need to dunk, what do you think? what do you do with your casings after the first flush? Oh yeah and Thanks for the link, i went ahead and got the 15 watt 5000 kelvin compact flood light and so far its working great. i would love to eat them but i just took 3 dry grams about 7 hrs ago (if you cant tell by how much im typin hehe) so now im waiting til next time. and i realize the golden teachers are not very potent compared to illusion weavers but its a nice drawn out high. ok i gotta quit typing this could go on for ever........................................................................

Golden Teachers are very potent IMO. It all depends on genetics though. Yeah, I would dunk. I'm not sure, but I think you should lightly scrape off the casing. Then fill up the container with water. Put something on top to keep it submerged. You probably only need to dunk those casings for 4 - 6 hours. Then apply a thin casing layer or patch. I don't know if it is necessary to put it in a dark place until the myc is poking through between flushes. I am not an expert on casings.

Oh yeah, did you get one of the cheap lights? I think I am about to buy one online. If I remember correctly they had some that were only 5 or 10 bucks.

yeah, they had some cheap ones on that website you suggested but they also require a minimum purchase of 20 dollars. They have the same ones on other websites for the same price, just search around, I found mine for 11 bucks on (i think) bulbs.com or somthin like that. I just picked the casing that was ready and i have it submerged right now (it was 30 wet grams, not bad but i wish i still had the casings as one instead of halves).
Thanx, I would have ended up dunkin'em all night, but 4-6
hours, i like that idea.

Metatron, yeah i was the one. That was when i first pulled it outta the incubator about a week ago and noticed it showing signs of overlay so i threw it into my fc and hoped for the best. As you can see i had to cut it in half.
  
Holesnype, it was 30g off one of the casings, but assuming the one next to it puts off around the same amount i guess my total would be 60.

Hi there people, I've started my first grow,(thread here:http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/8350017/an/0/page/0)
one out of three golden teacher cakes colonized, it should be about a week now till I can start the fruiting but I have a question!
I've bought a tub much like the original poster has which I plan to use instead of the plastic bottle method for fruiting, will this work with a whole cake placed inside with perlite lined along the bottom or would the bottle method give better results? Anyone Know?

HarryP2000 are you talking about the lil plastic tub the casings are in, I wasnt aware that you could use a plastic bottle and now that im thinking about it wouldnt that just make it harder when harvesting your fruits? Maybe i dont understand the tek i think ill go do some reading. Good luck
