Mycelium Generate Enough Heat to Raise Temps in an InsulatedRoom?
    #8401190 - 05/14/08 02:33 PM (15 years, 10 months ago)

I have a room that is 7.5 x 8 x 8 ft, or about 480
cubic feet. It is sealed and well insulated but not
climate controlled.

I have 6 black bus tubs of bulk colonizing. I figure
there is about 8.5-9 cu. feet of mycelium/substrate
strongly colonizing.

I only have a couple of small HEPA filters and an ozone
generator running. They use less than 1 amp combined.

I can cool the room off in the late evening to around
70F. By 6 in the morning the temps will raise to the
low or mid 80s.

Does the mycelium generate enough heat to raise my
room temps?

Why not worry? It is the middle of May, my space is
not climate controlled, and it climbs from 70 to
around 83-87 AT NIGHT when theoretically the temp
should decline.

Something is raising the temps. They raise during the
day too. What do you think will happen when we have
our first 90F+ day? I will worry a little...
