Uncased Coir monotub was fruited 4 days ago...Too late to case???
    #8399153 - 05/13/08 11:10 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

I just recently fruited a coir monotub and its been about 5 days so far. Do you think its too late to case it?
Also if I do case it, should I incubate for a few days?

Are primodial formed, if yes than forget it, if no then case away but a very thin layer and you can try to incubate but it might be too late, I am fruiting an uncased monotub right now of African Transeki and its day 10 and I am waiting to harvest till saturday because I LOVE FRESH SHROOMS

Primordial is an adjective. You mean primordia, which is the noun. Not being picky, I just see you making this mistake a few times a week! And in any case, theres a lot to be said for late casing. I cased a monotub 2 weeks ago which had tonnes of knotting and primordia, and have since harvested over 2kgs from it over 2 flushes.

Golden Teacher, but, to be honest, all of my tubs turn out like this nowadays, you just have to make sure that you have a balanced substrate, as airy and nutritious as possible, the correct moisture level and a good amount of spawn, I also let them colonize in a dark room with a small amount of gas exchange (eg the door closed). I use 3 quarts of rye in a 55 liter tub, with the holes 9-10cm from the base. As you can see, it works.
