Bella colinization speed?

I knocked up a few quarts of WBS on the fifteenth and no signs of growth??? Temps are at 82. The oysters I knocked up are starting to take off nicely. Is this normal for bellas?
BTW, this is the first bella grow and I'm using the warm weather Tork strain.

Oysters are much faster than Agaricus. I wouldn't worry until at least the 2 week mark. They tend to speed up once they get going but they are definately slow starters.

Next time use grass seed instead. Much, much faster than wbs.

Eventually it will. The trick to getting it colonized fast is, to shake the wbs once the Agaricus culture appears to have slowed down to a near stop. Give it some time and try to maintain 72-74 degrees. Once the culture has appeared to stop colonizing, shake the wbs. I shake my wbs jars around a dozen times in order to get them colonized in a timely fashion. Penn St. says that once Agaricus mycelium starts to sector out a lot, it stops progressing. This is true when it comes to using whole grains IME's as well. The tight knit grass seed prevents the mycelium from having to sector out far.

These jars took one shaking to finish up completely. 10-14 days as well. Much faster than using wbs, which took 4-6 weeks.
